Yo ain't no best the reason i say this is because the best may be who ever you happen to be listen to a at the moment and their are many underground MCs that would kill most of the people that are talked about on here and. But to each its own because don't feel papoose on most of his songs, hes way to young in hip hop to call him the best anyway, but he did kill on that alphabet song. Redman is still one of the top MCs to me and yes Nas is nice, but to me still has trouble making an complete album. Rakim and Big Daddy Kane are two of the nicest listen to them and hear where many of the lyrical styles came from. Right now i have my eye on Saigon, to bad hip hop is not in the right mind for people like redman, papoose, Saigon, or Jae millz and all the other lyrical kings to sell right.

There are different factors that contribute to who is the best rapper alive
There are no good rapper from the rappers today because they only have one good song on an album and they can't make good lyrics

I say
1. Rakim because of his unique lyrics
2. Nas because of his lyrics and originality
3. KRS-One because he could rap about anything without repeating the same thing and he is original

Lil Wayne is sooo whack, Im a huge hip hop head but I cant really mess with any of these cats. If I had to choose it would be Jay Z, Nas, Lupe Fiasco(not the best but miles better then any of these other artists), (most of yall will disagree with this) Immortal Technique.

Nas....Papoose has'nt released a album yet, went on tour , etc....he still does features and collabos...he's not a vet yet....Jay Z, Common, and LL are also consistent....they are on Nas's level career wise with their skills still intact...Nas just drops so many jewels...he speaks about more than drugs, cars, girls, and guns....his worldview is awesome....plus he's 10 years deep in the game....ghostface is good, too but not as consistent.

Still love Mos Def

Common keeps me thinking

Nas is very skilled...but sometimes i cringe (i'm a mom, what can i say?)

Classified (out of the true north) may not be the best, but the best i've heard recently - a fresh style with consciousness
