The quotes in themselves sound ignorant to me, because there are so many people with different backgrounds how could you act someway. Just like when people say "acting gay" well how do gays act, not all gay people act the same way. Just like all black people don't dress, talk or look the same and the same for any other race. So does it make sense to anyone?

I personally don't believe they exist because I believe that everybody is different that everyone, even those who share the same ethnic background. People are individuals regardless of what their background is. They're just the usual out of line stereotypes.

Basically it doesnt make sense, but today a young black man was delivering my groceries and I found myself saying things like It be hot out and other stupid things. I'm an old white lady and I started talking black just because this boy was putting away the water. I know how to act black because I work around a lot of blacks. I dont really do it on purpose-it just comes out that way. Funny thing is, I never see them acting white.

That phrase just highlights the stereotypes that some people like to use. Of course, most people realize that not all people of a particular race act the same way, but acting as such would be the stereotype (usually a media stereotype) of a particular race or nationality.

I think is definitely a way to act as a stereotype. There is no doubt about that. And sadly some people act in bad way that is not them and do the wrong things. They should just be them.

obviously you have never hung around a different race... their is a difference. is their exceptions yes... like always... but teir is always a majority... and the majority says their is a difference in every race... this isnt a bad thing... it is just different from white or any other races... that is like saying that it is bad to say that jews happen to have a little bit bigger nose... no they have it becuase their jews and that just is how jews look. some races have certain Traits becuase thats just how thier race is.

I have seen teenagers "acting" a certain way to go with the times. Unfortunately, it is part of growing up, and some retain this and think it's still "cool".

My answer is no! Its called stereotyping. If you were to go to London, their is no gangster image. Both black and white people have British accents.

yes..it does exist..it happens when someone so badly wants to fit into a stereotype, it becomes their way of life..

strange, but these behaviors are brought on by pop culture and current trends..its when someone perceives a certain stereotypical lifestyle becomes their obsession to be "cool"

Its called a sterotype - yes if you want to be politically correct you can say that - but there are some truths to some of the sterotypes and some are outragous and funny .
