Can you play all types of playstationgames in a PS3

Yes you can. As a matter of fact, I played some of my old Playstation 1 and PS2 games on my PS3 this week. The 60GB PS3 is compatible with most PS1 and PS2 games because it has the emotion engine in it. The new 80GB PS3 doesn't have the emotion engine in it, so it can't play as many PS1 and PS2 games, but it still can play some of them. The 80GB PS3 uses emulation software to play PS1 and PS2 games instead of the emotion engine hardware and was taken out of the new PS3 to cut down on costs and production time.

yes sir you can. also PS2 games. Jus make sure their not too scratched up lol. Lucky, wish I still had all of my ps1 games so I can go back and master the gamez i sucked @ when I wuz little
