tölva means computer. tölvu is something else related to computers but I am not not what exactly it is.

It means computer. In Icelandic there are four different cases, so words can have different forms while still meaning the same. The nominative of this word is "tölva". "Tölvu" is the way the word is in genetive, dative and accusative.

undir is right, just wanted to add sample. Like if someone asks you: Do you have a computer? it is: "Áttu tölvu?" in Icelandic. Not "áttu tölva?" That is grammitically incorrect, and also just sounds wrong..

Are you sure that "tölvu" is the whole word? I did some more searching and found that "tölvu" is primarily a root word. In fact, I found a list of 81 words with the root, "tölvu" at this website, check it out:
