I had been out of town and was traveling back home to my wife.
I stopped at this gas station to use the restroom and get a soda.
I had never been at this place before. I never seen or talked to this woman before, quite simply didn't know her at all. I am not ugly however i am no Harrison Ford, or Sean Connery.
Now this all happened in about a 30 second time frame.
I walked in, and as soon as i entered the door the woman behind the register says to me, "Hey i get off in 2 hrs, you want to go out?" At first i didn't think she was talking to me, but i looked around the store and since there was no one else there. I held up my hand and pointed at my wedding band and said, "Umm no, Didn't you see this?" To which the woman behind the counter said, "So?" She still wanted me to meet her.
What in the heck would have caused a woman to ask a guy she never met before, who was obviously married, out on a date? Are women really this desperate these days?

And before anyone asks, no i didn't take her up on her offer. I left and finished my trip and called my wife and told her about it.
I just couldn't believe that a woman would do this sort of thing.

The first part sounds like a woman who saw something she liked and simply took the initiative to get it. Some people used to call this asking someone on a date, which is normal, although in the past done by the male gender. Of course we all know times have changed, so...so what on this part. The wedding ring became not only a non issue for the woman but an added bonus for a few reasons. First off, you were honorable enough to point it out, which makes you a cool cat. Secondly, by virtue of being taken, you're obviously worthy of another woman which to some gals is a rush. Lastly, if she would have got ya, she would have some form of victory in her mind. It all probably comes from some past baggage.
At best, she's human and some people feel more comfy if someone else tries it first.

I heard it's because well...there's a saying I heard in high school. That nice guys are either married or gay. When a guy is in love, a girl can tell. There's an aura of unavailabililty about him, and he looks pleasant(because he's happily married), and many women don't have happy relationships, and when they see happily married guys, they know he's a keeper, and that's why his wife got him when she could, and the other lady just wants what she can't have. She's thinking, y can't i get a nice guy like him? ANd awe, look at him, he's married, and wants to be faithful to his wife, but let me see if he'll go out with me anyway...it's just a date. They don't take athe time to think, hey, maybe he's happy, because the woman he married rocks his world. All they think is, he could be happy with me. Hey, atleast ur a bit lucky, atleast u were alone and out of town. I know a girl who was with her husband and holding their child, and walking around in the mall, when her man got approached...by a "hoe". Come on, it's not like she couldn't conclude that he was with his wife and child...and I"m sure the wedding ring tipped her off! I wonder what's wrong with women too! I'm glad ur a good guy, because there are many who'd've taken that lady up on her offer.

I think some of the new problems women face is that now they are just as equal, most of the time, earning the household money. But still are expected to get dinner and take care of the kids, clean the house. Men are also I noticed are less likely to work and expect the wife to take care of them. Men are afraid to open the door for us, I guess either from fear that we will yell at them that we can do it ourselves, they don't give nice compliments due to fear that we will charge them with sexual harassment. We are lucky to find a man that cares enough to want to be at home, and is a little old fashioned about taking care of us but still allows us to be an equal. I also think that women are pressured to look a certain way, because of false advertising that Hollywood has shown us with the perfect women. When in fact this is an illusion that without 50 people working on her for 5 hours will never achieve.

Unfortunately there really ARE some" Desperado's" OUT there~ In no way do I mean to "disrespect " you or your looks----
But the world really is a cold and HARSH place for some people who are obviously very LONELY and extremely abrupt AND have no consideration for the fact that you even pointed out your wedding band.
If this is true ~~~~ A million wives out there applaud YOU!!! :)D

She may have liked your looks but still she is one desperate woman. Good thing you had the clear mind to stay clear of her or any woman for that matter. I am happy to hear that you didn't give her the time of day, it would have been great if you had said something to her like, My wife has no competitors.... That would teach that woman a lesson.

lol.
like a wedding band is going to scare off the vultures!
it's not being desperate. besides. some of them actually like the thrill. it works both ways, for hubbies who want a little action on the side. she might be using you to punish her lover for whatever reasons too.
anyway, safer for you to avoid these women. you never know if they carry some STD. condoms dont protect everything!

that is verrrrry strange.
usually if a wedding ring is pushed in your face, you apologize and back off!
wow...well thats kind of a compliment to you, she must have been attracted to you!!
maybe her little friends like dared her to come home from work that day with the first man she saw....WHO KNOWS!!!

Yes. You are right. Maximum becoming like this because of various reasons, but we can not make it for all.
Just you do not care about those and thinking for that also waste of time. Just forget the issue but .............. beware of such.
