Will next year's election be full of biased votes?
This is what I'm thinking. People will either vote for some ignorant republican, Barack Obama because he is African-American, or Hillary Clinton because she's a woman. What do you think? Do the other candidates have a fighting chance?

Too early my friend. Elections in USA like a Hollywood movie. Up till it is running and on, your will never know if it is a blockbuster, or a total failure. Just get the popcorn ready..

Every vote is biased to some degree. We all have our prejudices when it comes to what we look for in a candidate. For many people, these prejudices change from election to election and is a reaction to their thoughts about the status quo. If you tell me what you think is right and what is wrong about the current administration, I can tell you what type of candidate you are likely to vote for. The question then becomes what candidate can sell themselves as best meeting that image.

I don't think Senator Clinton is leading because she is a woman. She is leading because she represents a return to the Clinton era (which is popular among Democrats even if some in the general public -- not necessarily a majority -- fear that possibility). While his race helps Senator Obama somewhat, his speaking skill and his ability to pose as more of an agent of change than the other major candidates is also a significant part.

I could make similar notes about what the major Republicans are selling to their voters.

For all of the candidates, it is still too early to tell what voters are going to want in December, January, and February for the primaries, and even harder to tell what they will want next November.

The vote will be totally biased...as is your question, "ignorant republican". However you do have a point. I think most Republicans realize that whomever we nominate will only be a sacrificial lamb, much like Dole in the 96 election. It is truly unfortunate for this country that the only two candidates that are electable are Cliton (I know it's misspelled) and Obama, and the only reason they are electable is because of her gender and his ethnicity. Not because he is qualified or she has the best interests of this country in mind.

What do you mean by BIASED ?

People make a choice who to vote for, based on their own personal reasons. It isn't new for 2008. But I think John Edwards MIGHT have a chance.

However, terms like "ignorant republican" might be considered biased.

P.S. I'm a radical moderate registered independent voter. I employ my brain before I vote.

Why don't we wait until the election before making up the usually conspiracy theories.
