Ok, so i got Deathly Hallows the day it came out.
So how, do I know if its a 1st Edition Book?
This thingy that i checked on eBay said a whole bunch of numbers

Hi!
It says so right there: "FIRST EDITION"
That means... YOU HAVE A FIRST EDITION!
Of course, this "First Edition" was of some 4million copies. It is not the same as the First edition of Book 1, which was about 2000 copies.
However, YES. IT IS A FIRST EDITION!

Okay, i'll make this simple. if you go this book the day it came out, then what other edition could it be?! So, of course it's first edition, it even says it in the cover, because if it's first edition for july, the month it came out, then it's first edition FOREVER!!

there has only been one edition printed. the book just came out!
