You would be better off buying an army tank.

A 1964 Cadillac DeVille. Coupe, or Sedan . . . there were two DeVille models during that year, they had the same body styles, except one was a two door (Coupe), and the other was a four door (Sedan), as for the gas mileage, don't expect for it to set your world on fire . . . that engine would be a monster, and will suck a 26 gallon gas tank dry in little, or no time.

On a trip from Texas to California in 1969, our '64 Sedan De Ville averaged approx. 300 miles on a 28 gallon tank before the needle was touching 'E'. That was on I-10 at 65 mph. It was a gas hog, for sure. It had a big Carter 4-bbl carbuertor and little emissions controls, and it must have weighed 6,000 lbs. The ride was very smooth, super quiet and the antenna went up and down. It had a 429 cu.in. motor that produced about 300 hp (240 hp corrected to today's standards) Quite a luxurious ride, but not economical.

Well, on a good day around 10-12 mpg, but on most models its around 7-9 mpg. It's consumes the gas, but its a nice car!!! good luck with your choice. My advice would be, if you want to spend money on a car get a newer model with better mileage!

I have had a 64' sedan de ville for almost 20 years and even with my carburetor out of tune I've always gotten 13 miles to gallon consistently.
