If you mean building with wood, that's great. You can build small cabinets for diff. family members. children in the family? you can build them small furniture like table and chairs or outdoor picnic table. For your mom maybe birdhouses. Or put and ad in the paper for yourself that you can build projects for people. Make some money.

Truth is, I've been a carpenter for almost 36 years, and I haven't found anything like this for less than 10's of thousands of dollars.

I think you need to decide first if you like to build big things or smaller things.... and what materials you like to use.
Big things would be houses and other structures, large papier mache objects (generally over a wood and chicken wire frame), furniture, etc.... those are all mostly wood, but you could like to make big things from metal or other materials too.
Smaller things might be dioramas like model railroad scenes, or Halloween or Christmas stuff, or making smaller things from metal, clay, wood, resin, or just about any material.
