I received a Republican Party census questionnaire in the mail this morning and am shocked and disgusted with what questions were asked and how they were worded.

For example under homeland and security question (3) asks,

"Do you support air strikes against any country that offers safe harbor or aid to individuals or organizations committed to further attacks on America?"
I thought that this question was ridiculous and dangerous seeing how republican administration might skew the information to actually attack a country that is suspected of "harboring" organizations who might want to attack America.

What are your thoughts about this question?
Question (5) asks, “Should homeland defense forces use profiling to protect our nation?”

Has anyone else received one of these census questionnaires and is the RNC trying to monitor how stupid the American public might be this next presidential election?

I don't know about anybody else, but that line of thinking scares the hell out of me.

Sometimes I think Republican politicians think fear is their best weapon. It's really unfortunate.

My husband has been barraged with calls and emails from the Republicans. I, on the other hand, have had practically no contact from the Democrats. Both approaches are a bit disconcerting.

Question 5: No.

My husband has been letting the party know unequivocally how dissatisfied he is with Bush and the party. I have not had the opportunity to express my thoughts to either party, officially.

It's funny how scared people seem to be. I would guess you're a democrat and obviously terrified that the Democrats will lose again.

Odds are if history is an indicator they will. Of course odds are that you feel the need to make up the questionnaire because you are not secure enough in your candidate so you need to lie.

Since I keep having to say this let me repeat. I am not a Republican, it's just that the democrat's seem to be the most childish and scared group on YA.

I'm fed up with American Politicians, my question is why aren't you?

I defined to them that in the event that they have been given amnesty then they may be criminal and upon getting their required credit may be eligible to obtain SS while they retired. I additionally suggested, that as an American citizen i will by no potential qualify for SS advantages on account that i did no longer pay into it. (instructor retirement.) I additionally won some thing from the place of work of John Bonehead asking me if Nancy Pelosi's liberals perspectives represented the persons in my city. I replied that Pelosi represents the persons from her district in S.F. CA, and has no longer something to do with my city. Is it a rip-off? No, purely searching for funds.

Where did we get "homeland defence forces"? That sounds so -- no, I'm not going to go there. But we have never used that sort of language to refer to our active military force, our reservists, our national guards. Who is this mysterious group "protecting our nation"?

No, I didn't get that survey - not registered with either party.

(I'd like to be generous and equate "homeland defense forces" with Britain's "home guard" during WWII - remember in "Bedknobs and Broomsticks"? - but I'm skeptical it's anything so well-intentioned. Maybe they want to prop up the 2nd amendment by forming new militias that wouldn't be hampered by tradition and law the way the our real military is?)
