and within the last 3 days have been losing my mucus plug, yesturday went to labor and delivery with contractions (not painful just BH.) closer than 5 minutes apart for 6 timed hours. They didnt let up after tried laying down, drinking water, taking shower nothing stopped them. Then they sent me home because I wasnt dialating anymore than 2, I am currently 2 cen 90% effaced and at -2 position. Got home from hospital contractions kept up but they said they werent strong enough to be doing anything to my cervix, well, today they are still going but about 10 minutes apart now. Just wondering what could speed it up and if anyone thinks it will come soon.. Its my first baby.

I totally feel for you here because I have been in this exact same situation and it is a horrid place to be - basically in limbo. Some advice that it is impossible to follow but please try. stay calm. stress is bad for your baby, be positive but also be realistic. It may simply be that the foetus is younger than you thought and it hasn't developed enough yet to sense it but it may also be a sign that you have in fact suffered a loss. If that is the case my totally heartfelt condolences to you. One of the reasons they ask you to go away and wait is because if your dates are wrong and they D&C now it could terminate what is actually a viable pregnancy. The other reason is that if it is a loss then your body may expel it naturally. In my case I had no choice but to have a D&C because I became in so much pain I was admitted for 3 days. That doesn't mean it will happen to you and I don't mean to frighten you. Rest as much as you can and be kind to yourself because this week will seem like an eternity because half of you believes your have lost and the other half is hoping against all the odds that it is just too early. Safe hugs hun and I so hope your situation is different to mine.

Your baby will come it's ready. The contractions are a good sign that you're getting set to go. Don't worry about hurrying it along. The longer he stays in there the better off he'll be.
I started labor three months early, so when it got to be close to nine months I was READY. So I can identify with your situation.

I am almost sure that your Baby is here by now.
If not take a "as warm as possible shower" and manipulate your nipples.
If you go with the sex advise, you do not need to have an orgasm, just sperm......
Walking is great or using steps (just down, so the Baby goes down) take an elevator up.....
good luck to you

Sex works, but you need a orgasm to get the contraction's started. It does work. make sure water has not broken when you have sex. I would suggest not swimming you don't want a infection. Bath is okay

walk until you just can't stand it and do lots of sqwats!!! Or, you could try the herbs, fenugreek or blue cohosh (available at GNC) they are better than castol oil and much much safer.... Don't worry you won't be pregnant forever! You will know when it's real labor.... you will have pain. No pain, No gain!

try walking in a mall or in the hospital. it helps open up your cervix.

I know this may not sound appropiate but my doctor told me that sex would make you go into labor faster!
