Ever happened to you?
When you are on the street, or even in a shopping mall, a random persons greets you: they say "hello" to you, "how are you doing", he/she tells you he/she haven't seen you in a long time, that he/she misses you but you seem to have no clue about who they are. And you don't even remember them, also you don't remember if you talked to them before.

This has happened to me twice yesterday!! There were two people who greeted me just like you described. I feel like I MUST know them because, from the way they talked to me, they obviously know me, but I can't, for the life of me, remember who they are or where I know them from. It's driving me crazy!

Yes a lot of times. I just go a long with it lol The most embarrassing moment I have ever had we was in a restaurant a lady came up to me and said Oh how have you been you know the whole nine yards. Then she said Do you remember me? I said why Sure I do how could I forget you. And she said don't lie to me boy You was still a baby when i saw you, You was still filling your diapers I know you don't remember me. Every one in the restaurant was laughing including my mom and dad.

That is a common occurrence for me-- I ask them to describe our last meeting and some people that we both know ---usually something will "trigger" the memory and I will then remember the person but not always the episodes they are speaking of.
Be careful---there are a lot of crazies out there playing mind games with people and you really DON'T KNOW THEM....

Haha. Yeah. I went to a different elemetary school becuase I moved, but I stayed in the same city so the middle school was the same. That happens a lot, so I just tell them that i dont remember.

Happens all the time. I work in the most popular print and copy shop in town. All sorts of folks see me in the shop, but I don't necessarily see them... it doesn't stop them talking to me like we're old friends in the grocery store or mall!

Apparently I look different than I did 10 years ago, so people don't seem to recognize me. It's interesting because twice this month I said hello to someone who didn't remember me.

I think it would be best to just say "I thought you looked familiar... but I can't exactly put my finger on where I know you from!?" And usually they will fill you in on what you are missing. It's better than pretending and getting caught in a lie....lol.

yah... i just nod along and answer in the shortest way w/e they say. I smile and i say we should get back in touch some day. Then, "I gotta run... BYe!" Roll my eyes as i walk away and try to search through my mind who the freak that was!

Yeah I usually lie or act like I remember them. That way you don't hurt anyone's feelings or feel like an a$$hole.
