They are too numerous to be endangered, but unless you are the Ancient Mariner and haven't eaten in 40 days, I would not recommend these loud, squawking and stringy meated birds. They are the avian version of the garbage collector. Some birds are not designated as game birds even though they are plentiful such as robins. Even if Chickens were extinct I would turn my cullinary nose up at them. Give me a tasty well fed pigeon any day.

A day at the beach would be a real downer with dead sea gulls all over the place.
