i often wonder that too. you find a lot of that over in R & S. they ask questions about God or the love of God, or what to do in a particular situation, then just want to argue with everyone, then they pick the answer least suitable for their question (the one that sides with their mindset and way of thinking, not the ones that actually answer their questions); it would be a different story if they were using logic to reason things out to find the best, possible solution adequate to their needs and relevant to their question, but thats not the case.
i think some people just want to air their own opinions so the actual question itself is irrelavant as, they arent really seeking an answer; thats why i dont answer a lot of people's (so-called serious) questions over there. (or in any category much anymore). Because it's pointless, they want to argue, not be given a solution. I'll answer you, when you have a vaild question that you desire an answer for. until then, consider yourself ignored. I havent the time not the patience anymore to argue with people that just want to air an opinion, and have someone to argue with.

You wanna know why? Because people already know what they want to do, they just want someone to agree with them. It officially has nothing to do with wondering what everyone else thinks of the matter. It now has to do with wanting others to make you feel confident in your decision. What if I don't agree? Then, they get all on the defensive. That's why I always ask a person (except for on here...hey, you're just asking for it here. lol!!!!) if they are sure they want to know what think. And if they say they are sure, then whatever comes out of my mouth after that is something they asked for. lol!!!!

I have found that when someone asks your opinion, it's to get an answer they want to hear so they can justify in there head that it's okay to do, and if it's not what they want to hear then they ignore you.

Usually people like that are only trying to bolster their own position that they are right. They don't really want your advice or your opinions.

sometimes it's not the opinion we want...we just want a listening ear...& if they give advice or opinions...then fine...
but sometimes all a person has to do is lend a sympathetic ear...
