I'm a BIG fan of both, I only have about 20,000 CASH to spend on one or the other. I'm driving myself up the wall, I know everyone has their own preference. Just need some people's pro's and con's on each car. Hopefully someone that owns one of the cars. Thanks

The insurance isn't a problem, I got quotes from my company, not a big increase, it's not that I dont have more money, it's that I don't want to spend more money on an everyday car. And I will be buying probably 1999-2003, not new.

Porches tend to hold their value better, last longer, and are more comfortable to drive. Corvette's have that massive dashboard before that massive engine, so you sort of feel like you're captaining a boat rather than driving a car. Porches also get a little better gas mileage.

Another way to look at it is by asking yourself this question:

Do you prefer the higher quality and resale value of foreign cars or the satisfaction of supporting your country with American cars?

I own a C5 vette with a six speed and Z51 handling options among other build items. This answer will be given to you not by any human but by the car themselves. Go with a friend. Sit in both cars and blip the throttle. Now have you friend sit in the drivers seat and you walk around to the back of the car. have him blip the throttle.

The vette will raise the hairs on your arm and your mind will throw words at you like fast, power, racing tracks, American muscle car, cool machine.

The boxster will not raise the hairs on your arm or anything else. Your mind will throw words at you like honda civic, tin can buzzing, and chick car.

The boxster is not in the same neighborhood as the vette. Notice that the women are the only folks considering a Boxster over the vette. I regularly dust Boxsters and vettes although unforgiving of knucklehead riving handle quite well thank-you. The soprano's got the boxster pegged - it's a Porsche that wears women's panties.

Depends what you want, corvette is fast, grunty, sounds amazing but handles like a boat.
Boxster is fast enough, looks cool and handles like it is on rails.
If you want to show off at the lights or something gay like that get the vet. If you want to be a true driver get the porsche.
You might want to check out the cayman its the model between the 911 and the boxter and it rocks jocks.

You want American technology or German ??? Wait weeks to get parts or same day. You pay to play, how much you wanna pay is the question.......I have driven both and worked on both but would chose the Vette first

You need more money, even if you buy an old 1 you can't afford the insurance

id go with the porsche. its seen as classier, more sophisticated than the corvette to me. plus, i LOVE the styling of nearly any porsche.
