That is just a figure of speech. I didn't bleed the first time I had sex, everyone is different. Some people don't bleed at all, some bleed a lot, some bleed a little. Either way it's know big deal, what you should be focused on is giving that to someone. Make sure that person is the right person. I waited till I was 18, and I was friends with the guy for a year and dated for 4. Be careful, and good luck!!

That's usually what the 'cherry' is, is the hymen that is broken during the first intercourse experience that may bleed, but only a little. Of course, little girls can break their hymen way before falling on a bike seat, riding a horse, different ways...It's dumb they consider that the mark of actually losing virginity, losing your virginity is the first time you have sex. And, might I say without sounding judjmental, you sound young, so please be careful. It's coming from a 30 year old mother(me) of a daughter who will be 15 years old in a couple months if that tells you anything!

Not everyone bleeds. Everyone is different. Sometimes the bleeding is caused by the break in the hymen, but this can happen before sexual intercourse from using tampons or having trauma to that area like falling on a bike seat.

There are many many ways to "pop your cherry" - break your hymen. I partially tore mine when I was 6 - I fell off my bike. I tore it the rest of the way when I was 10 through masturbation. I didn't bleed at all the first time I had sex when I was almost 18
Some people break their hymen riding bikes or horses, doing gymnastics, falling over, using tampons etc. Having sex is only one way to break it.
There is only one way to lose your virginity , and that is to have sex.
It's totally possible that you had torn your hymen through using tampons, you wouldn't even notice the blood then. Then you have nothing left to tear and bleed during your first sexual encounter.

No. I didn't bleed at all. IT didn't hurt either. I was wondering if that was normal. I heard if u use tampons the hymen can break, and the vagina does expand accordingly, so that helps. But I also read that tampons are supposed to fit through a hole in the vagina that the period oozes out of, not damaging the hymen, so I don't know. But now ur here with this question, so I guess it's normal. Although, u gave me an idea for a question, thanks.

I didn't bleed or have any pain. But had been using tampons years before my first sexual experience. So, I guess my cherry had already been popped!

Some women lose their hymen prior to their first intercourse. It can happen as a result of strenuous physical activity, sexual exploration, all kinds of things, actually. It may very well be that you just had already lost your hymen prior to intercourse. It's nothing to worry about or be ashamed about.

I didn't either. Girls don't necessarily have to bleed. If a girl is older, or active in any kind of sport, then they probably won't bleed.

I didn't either. It's perfectly normal to bleed, and it's perfectly normal not to. A lot of girls actually break their hymen long before sex, especially if you were ever a gymnast. Don't worry, you're normal and lucky.
