yeah its a pretty strong word, but can sometimes (not often) be called for. Dislike is probably a less servere term. I can say i have never hated someone but have come pretty close. But yeah, best not to throw that word around as it could be very hurtful.

not only is it a strong word but it is a strong emotion. it makes the person holding the hate a bitter person inside. If you hate someone that much then why waste your time feeling such an ugly feeling about them. If you truly dislike them then just never think of them. that is harsher than giving them the satisfaction of your own pain.

Hate is a very strong word i think unless you would let the person drown in your line of site don't say you hate them say u dislike you or say im not fond of you or something else.
