It's for a girl (in case you didn't already know). What's the first word that comes to mind whne you hear the name? Example: Foreign, Pretty, Weird, Unique, ect.

Well it's going to be like a double name like Jamié-Lynn.

The acute accent over the E makes the long A sound and it's a French name so the J isn't like the J in Jamie. It's the soft G sound (it's often recognized as a ZH sound).

If you spell Jaime, most people (at least 99% in America) would still pronounce it Jay-Mee.

As long as someone knows how to pronounce the acute accent on the E, I don't think it'd be that hard to pronounce. Besides you can always just tell someone how to pronounce the name. Also we plan on moving around Europe/Asia/Australia/ect a lot where a lot of people have names like that.

Well if she wants, she has the option to go by Jamie or Jamié.

I'm not even sure Zameya is a name. And as long as the acute accent it written over the E, anyone with a high school education can pronounce it.

Also it's a completely different name from Jamie/Jaime/Jaimie.

We do plan on spending time in France for several years. Also "old" names like Emily, Anna, Hannah and so on always make the top ten most common names list and I have never seen Jamié even on the top 1000 names list so not everyone will have "unique" names like you say.

I think Jennifer is a very ugly name. Besides like I said, she can always choose to go by the American version or the French version.

Cute when she's young.
No one will ever spell it right, or pronounce it correctly.
Why the french name and symbol? Are you french? Moving to France? Unique names are cute and fun, and all the rage now, but not so unique when they get to school, since everyone is going unique. If you want unique, go back to the old names.
One last note, think about employment later, if employers can't pronounce or spell the name they might pass her over. Jamie Lynn is adorable, skip the symbols.

Well my name is Zameya and since I've been a little girl nobody has every pronounced my name right. its quite frustrating. But I get a lot of compliments on it. I'm just not sure what it means. Try a middle name or second name that rhymes with Jamie it sounds cute.
and don't listen to these people that is a beautiful name and I've always been told that. i do think that people are still going to call her Jamie. I wanted to name my daughter jreem or jream and pronounce it dream.

The name is cute my friends name is Jamie-Lynn but pronounced the American version which if you live in America your daughter will be called that not matter what's added to it to make it look Foreign. Sorry hope that wasn't too harsh. My daughter's name is Carey-Lynne, me and my family pronounces her name (care ee) and everyone says it Carry...can't stand it. That might happen to you if people keep calling her by the American version. Good Luck.

Sorry but I have to agree with the other girl... it's pretty bad. The fact that no one will be able to pronounce it is the biggest issue. If you name you kid that everyone will call her "Jamie Lynn". So if you want something unique I would pic a name that is unique that can be pronounced by their peers, teachers, etc.... Your child will thank you for it. Either that or spell it differently so that it is readable by the common public.
That's my opinion but the most important thing to remember is it's your kid so name it whatever you like. Just remember that your child will have to live with it forever.

I guess that I'd prefer Jamie Lin, because otherwise people will pronounce it like the normal "Lynn". At least this way they'll have a heads up that it's not the right way of saying it. :)
Good luck!

I see what you want to do but let me tell you, everyone will call her Jamie. I personally wouldn't do the double name but that's personal. It is a cute name but forget about people worrying themselves with pronouncing it the foreign way. Good luck on your baby
