Common misconception.
Spitting fire goes with a sneeze.
Hiccups make you inhale your own flame.
(And yes, it's really quite painful.)

No, cuz hiccups come from the diaphragm, and the fire stuff comes from a special tube that comes out the bottom of the mouth, and it is totally separate.

My three Dragon friends all seem to concur with the answerer who said that hiccups suck it in, not blow it out. I've avoided the situation, myself.

well my dragon only does it when he farts. so i cant feed him any meat. He is a vegan
