There is none, except for relatively insignificant issues like gay marriage, and gays in the military. They SPEAK differently, and the Republicans talk about less spending and limited government, but they end up DOING THE SAME THING! Hillary Clinton will be the exact same as Bush.

I will give you an example.

The CFR (Council on Foreign Relations) is pushing for an end to US sovereignty by creating a North American Union. It is one step in their plan to slowly shift toward one-world government, which has been their goal since the organization was founded in 1921. They also want to take away our civil liberties bit by bit, in a way that few notice.

The Council on Foreign Relations is the organization that gave us the "Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America" that Bush signed in 2005 with the president of Mexico and the prime minister of Canada, which expands on NAFTA to the extent that it threatens our sovereignty.

Presidential candidates who are CFR members:

Fred Thompson
Rudy Giuliani
John McCain
Mitt Romney
Jim Gilmore
Newt Gingrich
Hillary Clinton
Barack Obama
John Edwards
Joe Biden
Chris Dodd
Bill Richardson

"The true danger is when Liberty is nibbled away, for expedients and by parts.... The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men do nothing." Edmund Burke

"It is seldom that any Liberty is lost all at once." David Hugh

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your counsel nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." Samuel Adams

"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger." Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials

"The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed -- and thus clamorous to be led to safety -- by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary." H.L. Mencken

Well it depends on how you look at it. There is no such thing as a straight Dem or Rep. Reps believe government is inherently evil, that power corrupts and governments need to be small, but with a strong central government. Democrats like big government with many programs to help the people. Republicans are not fond of taxes and thusly it fits in with small gov. Dems often raise taxes and it helps with big gov. The part that is murky is on foreign policy. Real Republicans or conservatives are for staying out of foreign affairs. Progressives or dems are for interfering in foreign affairs and spreading democracy. However there is a new movement of Neo conservatives that want to interfere in foreign affairs but still claim they are Republicans. I personally think they should create their own party but I hope this helps.

On economics:
Democrats divide the people's money between themselves and the government by drawing a line and tossing the money in the air, left goes to them & right to the government.
Republicans, they draw a circle - what goes inside is theirs and outside is government's.
Independents - no lines, no circles - very transparent. They toss the money in the air, what remains up is goverment's and what goes down is theirs.

On policies:
Democrats: They listen to public opinion and debate the goods and bads. Their public is limited on the people of Springfield only, where Homer Simpson lives.
Republicans: They do the same thing but they listen to South Park more.
Independents: Oprah rules!!!

Democrats are like Robin Hood: they want to rob the rich and give to the poor. Republicans want to rob the poor and give to the rich.

Democrats want government to meddle in corporate board rooms and stay out of personal bedrooms. Republicans want government to meddle in personal bedrooms and stay out of corporate boardrooms.

They both want bigger government: Democrats are at least honest about it.

They both want to control you through fear: Republicans are at least up front about it.

They both think that staying in power is the most important thing they can do. Doing what's best for the nation and its people is ALWAYS second to doing what's best for themselves.

Basically, Democrats like hand-out (social) programs, tax, and spend. Democrats view businesses as the enemy. Republicans like businesses, creat jobs, lessen unemployment and taxes and make money. I used to be a democrat until I realize that I don't qualify for a lot of those hand-out programs.

Dems tend to be concerned about social programs and using tax money for those programs. They like big government.

GOP wants smaller government and to have people take care of their own issues without government assistance.

These are GENERALITIES. Nothing is in stone.

It basically boils down to Democrats think America is great because of its government and Republicans think America is great because of the individual.

Democrats are dirty pinko flag burning atheistic commies who hate this country and appease terrorists. Ask any Republicans, that's what they will tell you.
