I really could care less what some guy named Paul says -- I don't pray to Paul every night, and I don't go to the house of Paul on Easter Sundays.
I want to know where none other than God says gay people are morally wrong.
While I wait, chew on this--
Separation of church and state should clarify to people that because God says so isn't a legal reason for Gay marriage to be illegal.
Even if the separation of church and state didn't exist, and the U.S. or wherever was Christian, Gays being morally wrong doesn't mean no marriage. Murderers are allowed to marry, and they even have a commandment against them.
If god didn't want gays to exist because they are foul beings, why would he have created them? Don't say free will because if we had completely free will, without God giving us any ideas, their would be the controversy of people loving rocks, or thinking that tearing down buildings was murder.
We don't think things without God giving us a little guidance.

I can guarantee you that some years from now, probably after we're all dead, but hopefully not we (or our descendants) will look back at the foolishness of gay hatred and lack of acceptance as we look back on the times of black slaves and their owners--with disbelief at the latter's bigotry.

Well done, my Daughter, well done! I've been saying that Paul is not the Savior and the laws of Leviticus and Judges do not apply anymore due to Jesus (who is the Savior). We are beings of free will who God Loves very much and who will continue to love us irregardless of our sexual choice. Those who disagree may take their eyes out of our bedrooms and put them back where they belong -- in their heads and may then go disagree with God instead of us.
As for Church and State, well, it will always intrinsically be linked because ethics and morals are faith based. We learn them from our parents but they are not the "only" things we do learn. They are tempered by what we constantly learn. it's when we stop learning that we fail.
I did so love your Question. Please, make more. Make me think until I talk in circles.... oh wait, I'm not in the governemnt.

The observe gay did no longer even exist till around 1892. The text textile has been translated maximum of circumstances that guy has inserted words and words that did no longer exist. some even say since Leviticus specifically record policies for the Sabbath, that guy on guy action became into purely condemned on the Sabbath, something of the week...have at it. i assume the comparable would choose for procuring busy which includes your spouse whilst her Aunt Ruth is on the city. the subject became into that for the duration of the act of love between 2 adult males, one would desire to take the placement with the aid of fact the girl and girls human beings have been recognized as a decrease or inferior creature an merchandise or possession. The receiver lowers themselves to that of an merchandise no longer a guy or woman or a guy. BJ's and squeezers have been completely appropriate however. finally, would not it look somewhat harsh to stone human beings to dying for infidelity or slicing off a woman's hand for saving her husbands existence by using grabbing some adult males junk? How a pair of childless widow having intercourse with all her husbands brothers till a male inheritor is born? i'm sorry, i purely can no longer blindly stay by using all and sundry of those policies.

A lot of what is in the bible has actually been played around with by scholars and writers in their churches, some things ripped out because they didnt like it. Other things changed unfortunately. To go by the Bible anymore is a foolish mistake. Let you heart lead you with what is morally right. Anyone who claims to know the answer because of the Bible is just a fool. For the answer shall never be clear in that hazy nonsensical book that will always be revized and changed.

Mr. Knowitall -- NONE of the Bible is valuable. It is a human book that the Christian faith PRECEDED by almost 400 years. The books in it were determined by VOTE at the Council of Carthage in 397 acting on a recommendation from the Synod of Hippo in 393. It is anything BUT divine.
if there is anything at all in the thing that is of value, its what Christ says -- lots of people have thought that for a VERY long time, that's why there are red letter editions.
Likewise, she is right, Paulist Christianity is not the original, even by the lights of the fundamentalists, further, even in the received texts Paul repeatedly says that he speaks OF HIMSELF NOT THE LORD. That could easily have covered all of his writings, even by his own standards.
Paul is utterly meaningless, even more meaningless than the rest of the fallacy and error ridden, self-contradicting mess.
Kind thoughts,
reyn

interesting you brought up race . if you study the abolishinest movement , you learn that many southren preachers used the bible to justify slavery for decades , and preached to packed houses every time . this is american history not lithuanian history . so the classic book of the bible for homophobia , and general dementia is the book of leviticus . but other sections carry on too . This is not God talking of course , but primitive tribal guys thousands of years ago .

I agree... and in it's original languages the Bible really doesn't say anything negative about homosexuality anyway. I'm kind of suspicious that David and Jonathan had a little something going on lol especially when David says "Jonathan: very pleasent hast been unto me: thy love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women." (2 Samuel 1:26) And David obviously was not condemned by God.

I find it funny that people are so hung up about some Leviticus passage, when the old testament also tells us not to eat meat from a cloven hoof. Bible-thumping gay-bashers eat pork. It's so hypocritical.

It does not nor is the word homosexual used in the bible. Why anyone would use a bronze age book of superstition as a guide to human sexuality is a mystery to me.

In one part God says Sodomy is a sin, BUT if you go back and read in hebrew it really means Machoism is a sin. That is pleasure from another's pain, sodomy is butt sex, which doesn't hurt if you do it right.
