There is an entrance gate in Fez that is called the Boujaloud gate....but that isn't what boujaloud is.
Should I tell you all? hmmmmm lol

It's the entrance into the city, that keyhole shaped opening in the wall surrounding the city...

~~~~~ I KNOW!!!!!!! It's a goat skin costume kids wear and bug other kids for money. If they say no, they hit the kids with the goat's feet! LOL Silly kids! Must be an Agadirian thing :-)~~~~

i'm not sure about the meaning around Agadir but i'm kinda sure that it's in some places in Morocco, boujaloud is the name of the adenoids vegetations, a tissue of skin that grows between the nose cavity and the back of the mouth. In other places, boujaloud is some kind of buttons (i think the big ones)

My husband was not sure. But, he made some guesses. His first guess was something to do with skin.

Then he went and said, something along the lines of it being some kind of plant.

Then, he went and said...it could also be a name.

So, I can pretty much say, he had no idea!!!

There are original defensive walls, which are penetrated at irregular intervals by a massive gate which is called the boujaloud. there is also neighborhood near fez called boujaloud where there is a stinky tannery.

boujaloud =in Moroccan means rashes, with buttons everywhere on your skin. Irritation often due to microbes.
