I've just seen the live action Transformers movie, I was a big fan of the cartoon (the original 80s one) and of the comics and was really looking forward to this film and I definately wasn't disapointed!!!! Even Bumblebee's Beetle (or Bug if you're in the states) being replaced by a Camaro (which i really didnt like the idea of) didn't disapoint in the end.

All (sensible) opinions welcome

I was 10 in 1985 and I remember Optimus Prime's death in the animated movie being a major film moment for me at the time (even though I later learned it was just to get rid of the G1 line and introduce G2). I liked the movie. I still don't understand why they gave Optimus Prime lips and it was a bit silly to kill off most of the decepticons, but overall the movie was faithful to the characters. It had me giggling and excited like a 10-yr-old all over again. Can't wait for the dvd!

I liked the movie from an action standpoint, but being a fan of the Transformers of the 80's, I was very disapointed. Not enough Transformers on either side; and devistator!!?!?! He wasn't one robot, but 5! Also, WHERE ARE THE QUINTESSANS?!?!?

: )

I am with you! I was a huge fan of the "Transformer" cartoon series. As far as the movie, I will go and buy it, as soon as it comes out. The Transformers are cool. I mean, who can't love, "Autobots, Roll out!!" Peace!
