i have a corn snake to. this is wat ya do. buy a frozen pinkie mouse, and then put it in hot water for about 15 minutes. your snake should be in a small container inside his main tank. you put the mouse in with him once it is thawed and warm, then turn off every light in the room (including the heat lamp) for about 20 minutes. then go back in and check on him. he should have eaten the mouse. if so, then let him out of the little box and leave him alone for the rest of the day. if he hasnt eaten, repeat the light-out step. the key is that the mouse is warm and there is no light. so, you turn out light, leave room. feed him once a week. set it for like a sunday or something. WAIT!!! i forgot to say this. if the snakes head is smaller than a pinkie mouse, feed him a medium cricket every week, same procedure. except for the water part.

It's not unusual for young snakes to be stressed when they are moved to a new place. It depends upon the snake's personality. Some are calm and nothing bothers them, some are more nervous. Give your baby a few more days and then try feeding again. I would suggest in the evening when it starts to get dark as this would be the most natural time for them to eat. Place in a small container with a lid on it. If feeding frozen thawed pinkies, make sure it is very warm. Put the pinky in with the snake, close the lid and place it in a quiet dark place. Do not disturb for at least an hour. If the baby still won't eat, I'd suggest taking out the substrate from the viv if you have some, and feeding in the enclosure. Wait until evening and place the pinky at the opening of whatever hide it's in. Leave it alone. You can leave the pinky there overnight if necessary, discarding it if it doesn't eat it. Wait a week and try again. Do not try to feed to often, and don't handle your baby until it starts taking food. Of course wait 48 hrs. before handling it after it's eaten. E-mail me for more ideas on feeding if time and trying in the enclosure don't work.

first of all, always be careful when buying animals from petstores. because they have so many animals and often hire ppl without much prior knowlegde (especially concerning repties) the info can be inacurate or wrong. basically they are generally informed, but by all means not usually specialists. secondly, it probably would have been best (although i know not always convenient) to have them feed the snake in front of you first. okay, so thats the past, the snake is now yours. make sure the pinkie is only a few days old. small snakes especially sometimes get intimidated my larger prey. try placing your snake in an opaque container with its food, so it is not distracted by everyting goin on around, and because corns tend to feed at dawn and dusk, therefore a darker environment might help.you dont need to dangle the pinkie in front of the snake either as this can aslo intimidate it, as pinkies dont move that much when alive, just leave the rodent in the container with the snake for an hour or so. 'braining' ( slightly cutting through the skull of the rodent-assuming you are feeding frozen/thawed) the pinkie will also help because it will release a stronger smell and be more enticing, also try to mist the container lightly, as this will also accentuate the smell. finally make sure that the snakes living conditions are up to par, as a stressed snake is less likely to eat, especially if it was just recently introduced into a new home. good luck!!!

need to leave the snake alone for 10 days, dont even look at it, once you have it settled down, try the pinkie braining. feed it in a dark place. if that does not work get lizard scent. put that on the pinkie. if that doesnt work buy an anole , rub the lizard on the pinkie, and try feeding the snake. Right now its stressed. Try not to stress it too much more.

hi, my brother bought a ball python and it didnt eat for a week or 2, so what we did was to put his food in his cage and leave him for about an hour, but make sure you check up on it! if he didnt eat we would take it out and try again the next day. he eventually started eatting. it also takes a snake a long time say about a week to digest their food, so maybe it had been fed before you purchased it and it is still waiting for its food to digest. just a tip when you feed your snake, take it out of its home and put it in a shoe box or something to feed it, because if you feed it in the cage, when you go to stick your hand in the cage to take it to play with, it might think you are feeding it and it might bite you. best of luck!!!

Snakes are cold blooded, as are most reptiles. Feeding it something exceptionally cold may cause it injury. Try feeding it small live slugs, crickets, or other live creatures, or make a greater effort to defrost the pinkies. Also, snakes often don't need to eat for quite a while if they swallow something large. Don't force feed it.

Could be stressed from the move. Give it a few days. One trick for babies is to put it in an empty CoolWhip type container with holes cut in the lid. Put the pinkie in it and leave it alone in the dark for 15 minutes. This will often stimulate them to eat. Make sure you have correct temps and humidity.
