Sounds like labor, but it could just be really strong Braxton-Hicks contractions. As for the people who are saying you wouldn't be on here if they were real contractions, I didn't really have any pain at all until right before it was time to push. And yes, that was my first baby. I didn't even need pain meds or an epidural in that delivery, so it is possible for you to be in a reasonably comfortable state even while in active labor. Congratulations, you're about to have a baby! How long it will take them to get to 5 minutes apart depends on the baby's position and how many children you've already had.

This is some info that I looked up on another site. Did the Dr. see the blood during your exam and mention it? Odds are good the you are in labor and should contact the Dr. between eight and five minutes apart. Does your coach know that you are having contractions? This would be the time to tell him/her.
>Some women will lose their mucous plug or part of their mucous plug weeks before they go into labor. Losing your mucous plug does not always mean labor will begin shortly. Keep in mind that even if a woman has begun to dilate, it may be weeks before she actually goes into labor. However, if you notice blood tinged mucous before your thirty-sixth week of pregnancy, notify your doctor right away. As your body prepares for labor your cervix will begin to dilate and thin. As your cervix opens up, your mucus plug may fall out. Losing your mucous plug is a good sign that labor is on its way. Though, it could be days or even weeks after you lose your mucous plug before labor actually starts. Many women do not lose their mucous plug at one time; instead, they lose it more gradually. They may notice an increase in vaginal secretions weeks before they go into labor. <

You could wait a little longer.
I had contractions from last monday morning all the way until thursday morning when my water finally broke. I had a bloody show all throughout wednesday.
You may want to wait until tomorrow around noon.
If nothing happens by then, just go to the hospital and have them run a nonstress test.
Good luck, I hope it happens sooon! :)

Its been 22 hours!?
Why are you on here? Go to the hospital
Plus, to the other girl
Pick up the frying pan ... I mean the phone and tell him you're heading to the hospital.
(rolls eyes)
Does your doctor even know you could be or are in labor?
Even if they send you home, it is safer to be seen at least once, in-case there are complications you're unaware of ... such as your babies heart beat ( It may be too much stress on the child), not dilating, your blood pressure...etc
....... Congrats to you both

Yes, it's definitely seems like you're in labor. Braxton Hicks contractions are very inconsistent and go away. Yours have increased in frequency and are more painful. These are signs of true labor. Good Luck mom-to-be, very excited for you!

It sounds like you are in labor, but since labor differs for each woman, there is no telling how long it will take you to get into serious, active labor. You will know, though, trust me, you will know. It won't be something you aren't sure about, you will know.

YES you are in labor.. shortly you should be able to be with your perfect little baby!
I would expect this evening your contractions would get closer together (5 min). Try to get some sleep.. I PROMISE YOUR CONTRACTINS WILL WAKE YOU UP WHEN YOU'RE READY TO GO HAVE YOUR BABY!
Congratulations on your miracle!

you won't be in labor until they're 5 mins apart, and the blood is just from the exam. it will probably be a few days.

You have every right to be excited....it sounds like labor to me!! I would call your Dr. or talk to a nurse at labor and delivery. They'll tell you rather or not you should come in...CONGRATS!! and best of luck to you.
