Take them to the police and/or bank and ask for guidance.

Tell them by what means you figured out they were counterfeit.

Save whatever envelope they came in, however they got to you, so thay can be back traced.

Take the traveler's checks either to the police or to your bank. Taking them to the cops is preferrable. Fill out a police report and let the cops know where you got them.

if you cashed the travelers you need to return the money and go to the police and tell them the situation, if you have not cashed them then go to the police so they can take action against the person that made the counterfit checks

The only reason they could arrest you is if you used the checks and if they could prove that you knew that they were fake.

That is a STATEMENT, not a question. Unless the police are convinced you KNEW they were counterfeit, they will not arrest you. If they believe you knew, we can't help.

Did you cash or pass them?
