Bush refuses Gas Tax, that is the headline on major News Networks: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20196442/

They are blaming Bush for not doing enough for repairs of our National Bridges while if you read the story complete you come to know that the new gas tax is going to generate only about 2billion per year for each state, while each state already is getting 28.5billion for the next 7 years to repair all its roads and bridges?

Why the democrats want another tax? when they already have money under the National Highway Renewal Plan which was approved and signed in 2005?

the money for the bridge was redistributed by the dems that run minnesota into transportation ie buses and light rail also a huge part of the funding for the bridges went to build the Twins a stadium

Taxes are already huge on a gallon of gas and is one of the main reasons gas prices are outrageous

The idea that more tax money is going to fix things when money apportioned to that very thing has already been squandered is insanity

Instead what should be done the govt needs to add up what it will cost in materials and labor to repair the bridge and buy those materials themselve no more sending blank checks

Tax be my middle name quoth the Marxist. A tax cut to head off the inflation always associated with gasoline price increases (everything is shipped somewhere) is what makes sense.
