How can I improve my vocabulary when I tend to suffer from short term memory loss? Are there any good websites that offer vocabulary quizzes to test your knowledge?

Reading extensively helps improve vocabulary. A language user's knowledge of words depends on reading as well as interacting with people who have a good command over that language.

Two sites I found are www.wordsmart.com (have to be a registered player) and www.vokabel.com (you can create your own quiz or take one of theirs. English, French, German, or Spanish are offered).
You also might try crossword puzzles--start with the easy ones and work your way up to challengers. Take note of definitions you see most often and pretty soon they tend to sink in, thus building your vocabulary. :)

Buy a small pocket dictionary and pocket thesaurus and take a few minutes during the day popping them open and reading a few pages from each. It will surprise you how entertaining that can be-and useful, too.

The best method is to read more. Read things that challenge you and look up the words when you don't know them.
