my dads getting me a mac book for my birthday (tommorow) atleast i hope he is ;P. i wanted to know if i should still stick with the macbook, or get a reguar pc. the people at bestbuy said i can put windows XP on my mac, so i can play on windows OR mac, or both at the same time. the highschool that im going to uses macs (so does every onther school ive been to) so i was wondering if that would be an advantage for me. the down side to the mac is that the web cam that comes with it only works with " i-chat" (you can only chat with people who hav other macs. so? what should i do?

I bought a MacBook pro... biggest waste of money EVER. I recommend a Toshiba laptop.

Definetely stick with the macbook. It's a good machine. Even though I've never heard of macbooks being able to run windows, I'm sure there would be nothing wrong with it, and that would basically get you a windows laptop as well as a macbook. If you really want to do video stuff with the camera, then that's the ony downside I can see. Otherwise, the camera isn't really that big of a deal, and you can still download other IM apps from the internet (msn, for example).

Macs are more stable and a lot faster. Yes, You can install XP as long as it has an Intel processor, which most likely does because it's new. iChat can be used with an AIM screen name so you'll be able to do video chats with people with AIM, not just Macs. I do recommend Windows over Mac because it's what I'm used to and there is a lot more software made for Windows... Macs are cool though, but I'd go for Windows.

I easily have accomplished this. I easily have a computing gadget Mac I easily have outfitted that runs Leopard and XP professional. it incredibly is all accomplished with a USB dongle that makes the working device think of it incredibly is working on Mac hardware. A Mac professional for the cost of a Mac Mini.

Stick with the MacBook, you won't regret it. Don't listen to mdigitale, he's a known troll on this board.
