Most people report being less hungry in the first three months, and ravenous by the time they get to 8 months, with another decline in appetite as they approach gestation.

Heck yes. I was freaking hungry every 2 hours during the 2nd trimester. The baby took all of my food. I ate almost twice my normal portion just to be full and then I'm hungry again 2 hours later.

I'm at 9 months now and I still get hungry all the time but not daily like during the 2nd trimester. Some days I have no appetite.

I agree with the replier who said 1st trimester you have no appetite, 2nd trimester you eat like crazy until the 8th month.

It's true that you're eating for two people.

A lot of women lose their appetite during the first trimester as mentioned before because of nausea or aversion to certain smells. My appetite improved in the second and third trimester, however, you aren't supposed to double your intake. You are actually only suppose to add 300 calories a day to what you would normally eat if you were not pregnant. Yes, you end up eating every hour or two as you progress in your pregnancy, however, there are a few reasons why. Number one, your baby takes up more room the bigger it gets, causing all of your organs, including your stomach, to be squished and fit wherever they can...which means there is less room in your stomach for full meals...meaning you must eat small, frequent meals. Second, the baby consumes what you eat, leaving you with a little less nutrients for yourself, thus you must increase your caloric intake in order to "feed" yourself as well as your baby. It only seems like you eat a ton, but you really shouldn't be eating that much more.

yes I agree. The first trimester you're not hungry and the second you are very hungry. But remember you are not eating for two. Babies do not need a lot of food just healthy food. .Some people use the excuse you are eating for two to eat too much and it's so hard to lose the weight.

from experience you get alot hungrier during pregnancy because th more a baby frows the more your body creves to supply for you and the baby.you can also have no appetite when your preganat because your stomach has little room to hold alot of food with the added weight you get with a baby on the way. my answer would be to eat just enough so that you don't get sick from not eatting and make sure that what you eat nourishes the baby.

I always lose weight in my first trimester. My appetite tanks, and I don't want to eat anything.

I never get the massive binge eating urges some women seem to. And remember that you may be eating for two... but that's not two adults. ;)
