you guys are all retarded.
This is nothing more than the media latching onto a story thats being shoved down their throats by liberals who are using the Olympics as leverage to twist China's arm.
See, the Olympics are probably the #1 item on China's political agenda. It is their chance to showcase their power and development.
The liberals have taken this opportunity to shove human rights, the environment, and health/safety issues down their throat because they know that China is listening...at least until the Olympics are over. China's just thinking to itself, "Don't screw this up....put your best foot forward."
Come on you morons, think about it. China have been shipping its goods to America by the fcuk load for the past 2-3 decades. No one was b*tching and moaning back then. People were not getting hurt using their products 10 years ago, and people aren't getting hurt today.
It's all just a bunch of political hot air.

the main needed element is to get the financial equipment transforming into back. definite the debt, credit status, commerce imbalance are all area of the priority, yet focusing too quickly on anybody of them can not help. If the fee for halting the deficit is to decrease spending plenty that it floods the interest marketplace with laid of government workers, and stalls this mushy restoration, then is it incredibly properly worth it? i don't think of so. we could desire to look on the super photograph and do what it takes to stay the two fiscally to blame on an identical time as additionally encouraging strengthen, especially interest strengthen. we've basically been throughout the time of the worst recession because of the fact the Nineteen Thirties. that's not a concern which would be solved over night. the reality that 0.5 human beings are not status in bread strains is something, a minimum of. And to those that blame Obama, submit to in concepts that the financial equipment almost imploded before he replaced into elected. despite if he replaced into an financial genius and had the political climate to do despite he had to, we nevertheless weren't going to get out of this with out some economic soreness.

We, the U.S. thought that the Free Trade agreement with China (2002), would mean we'd buy their finished goods, and they'd buy ours. It didn't work that way. Yes, we buy their finished goods because we said we would. What they buy is our raw materials, like wood, steel, bulk plastic and rubber. And then send it back as finished goods. We're not sending them anything that the population can use, only the factories so that it can be sent right back here. It's not free trade, it's only specific manufacturing. I'm sure the Chinese population is, for the most part, unaware that there's even a free trade agreement with us. They never see any U.S. products. And I really am not sure why their products are so substandard. The whole agreement thing should be scrapped.

China is in the early stages of industrial development, so quality control is not what we expect in the West.
And China is such a huge country that it produces an enormous volume of these uncertain-quality goods.
The US buys so much merchandise from China (because it costs less) that, especially given the low level of quality control in China, some of the stuff is bound to be bad.
I can remember when Japan's merchandise had a similar reputation. "Made in Japan" implied cheap and flimsy. As their expertise in manufacturing improved, so did their goods. I assume the same will happen with China.

China has moved at break-neck speed into capitalism, but has not developed the infrastructure to maintain quality as it went into production. They are literally pulling illiterate farmers in from the countryside to work in their factories. On top of that, corruption is rampant among the management and leadership structure at local levels especially. They are more than willing to cut corners to make a little more profit. So it is no surprise that quality suffers. I think the answer is no more complex than that.

The factories in China are making the goods as cheaply as they can in order to maximize their profits. The factories had to go to China in the first place because companies such as Walmart started lowering their prices and what they would pay companies for their goods. US companies could not make money manufacturing the products in the USA and selling them to Walmart at such low prices. So they sent the factories to China in order to make money and continue to sell to companies like Walmart.
The food issue is similar, the Chinese are just trying to maximize profits

The profit motive - the lesser quality goods are being sold at premium prices. There wouldn't be a market if people refused to buy cr@p.

Don't be paranoid. It's not about the USA. They send their products to many other countries. They just make cheap stuff and don't care about quality or safety.

well kick backs and payoffs played a big part in it and since they executed one person for knowingly selling things that were contaminated I would like to think that a large part of this is going to stop
