It depends on the cat. I had a cat that would catch snakes and bring them inside (we had a doggy door). I had another cat that kept swatting at a snake while the snake attempted to bite it. Snakes usually leave people and animals (that they can't eat) alone unless provoked. If you are have a big problem with snakes, get some snake repellent.

Cats will occasionally go after or eat snakes- but not to any major extent. Snakes are not really scared away by any animal I know of, but pigs will almost always kill any snake they find.

My cat has killed small snakes not big ones. The only thing that snakes are afraid of ,as far as I know, are birds of prey.

my cats bought in heaps of snakes, and also left a live one under our table while we were having dinner, which was very annoyed and tried to bite my leg, snakes aren't afraid of cats and they will try and kill/ play with them
