If you could list the dates of your coins I could tell you for I am a coin collector that is if they are from the u.s. If you can't you could buy a copy of red book guide to u.s. coins at a local book store I hope this helps answer your question.

See a coin dealer but make sure you go to the right ones. U.S. coins to their dealers and world coins to theirs. It would be wise to get more than one opinion. If you had listed them i could have helped. I don't mind when there is only a few, long lists I don't for, I don't have the time. Also check to see if a coin club is near by, they would help. For U.S. coins Coinage and Coins magazine have a retail price guide and will give you an idea if the coins you have indeed are scarce. dealers pay less but the values listed give you an idea if you do have a rare coin.

I recommend that you go to http://www.us-coin-values-advisor.com/old-coin-prices.html This is a really useful and easy to use website that lists almost all U.S. coins and their market values, by coin condition.

Go to any book store and buy a book on old coins;
You can get one at a library also but it may not be as up to date as a new one you buy. They really do not cost that much.
