I went to an exhibit at a museum when I was really little and they were showing a skink. I remember it being really cute with a very un-lizardlike fat pink tongue and it ate fruit. I've tried Google Images, trying to find a name to go along with it, but no such luck. The only thing I find are the 5 Stripe kind, and I can catch of those in my back yard!

Try going to the Library and looking at some books ? It is possible that you might not be remembering exactly what you saw. There are soooo many different kinds of skinks from very tiny ones to large ones. Good Luck...

1. Where does it naturally live?
2. What type of habitat?
3. The coloration or camoflauge of it.

Some species are not always easy to find unless you know where to look. Like there is a wild scorpion here in the Willamette Valley of Oregon, but only a few people know about it including myself and its hard to find info on it on the internet.

It might have been a monkey tailed skink that you had seen. They are quite a large, unusual skink and would have left an impression on you. Their diet consists of greens, veg and fruit.
