How often did your breastfed baby eat at 3 months? Did your baby also sleep through the night? My baby is sleeping through the night and eating about 5-6 times a day.

My grandson was born on April 15 so he is almost 4 months old. He is exclusively breast fed and he eats every 2-3 hours during the day. At night, he is sleeping 4-6 hours at a stretch. So, in an average 24 hour day he eats 6-10 times a day with it generally being closer to 6 than 10. Each day is different and some days he'll eat more often and sleep less, other days he sleeps a lot so he nurses less. Lots of growing, learning, and activity going on in his young life. His mother, my oldest daughter, did not sleep through the night until she was over a year old so I am happy he is doing better for her than she did for me!

It sounds like you are right on track. Most 3 mo. old babies eat 6-8 times per day and between 5-15 minutes on each breast (if you do one breast per feeding that's 10-30 mintues). As long as she is gaining weight, has several wet diapers and seem satisfied after feeding then you are doing great! Sleeping through the night varies from baby to baby but you are very lucky. My little one slept through the night 8p-7a at 8 weeks and I thank the swaddling for that!

My three month old eats about every 2 hours during the day. She sleeps thru the night usually- in fact she is in her 11th hour of sleep right now. BUT last week she was waking up every 3 hours at night to eat. She just does what she needs to do, I just follow her lead for now.

I never had either of ours on a scheduled feed with nursing- it's just best if you nurse them when they are hungry. Schedules didn't come into play until around the 8th month- when meals became a factor. I am still breastfeeding our now 1 year old and nurse her on demand.

She started sleeping through the night at 4 weeks old, then up at 6 months, and again at 9 because of teething. Even with Infant Motrin she would get up. She sleeps with us as did her brother until he was 2.5 years of age.

She is just one year and her routine is as follows:
Up at 8:00 and she has breakfast
Nurse around 10:00
Lunch at 11:30
Story and nap at noon
Up at 2:30 and she has a snack
She nurses one in between her snack and dinner.
Dinner at 5:00.
Snack at 8:00
Bath, story and bed at 9:00

With our son- I was more of a scheduler- but am much more laid back with her.

Typically every two to three hours. Some babies do sleep through the night around three months (sounds heavenly!). Looks like you've just about got it! =]

As often as they like!

Mine nursed every hour and a half to two hours, for 30-45 minutes at a time, but she slept beautifully for 8 hours.
