If you burn more calories when its cold then why don't we invent cold chambers that allow the body to burn calories! I mean really this is losing weight without exerscise? I mean we could even have TV's in the rooms to keep you occupied! And monitors to make sure you don't drop below a safe temperature!

You would just sit in the air tight in the cold room?

umm, that wouldn't help anyone. Yes, cold makes you shiver and makes your blood flow more to keep you warm, but that won't do much in the long run. If people wanted to do that, they could just turn down their thermostat. Thats what models do. But then again, they also don't eat. If your so serious about weight loss, why not jump on the damn treadmill for literally 2 minutes? because that will do you more good than being in a frigid room, even for an hour. Its just not effective enough to be a plausible weight-loss solution for anyone. sorry

well, you couldn't just sit there in the cold..you would have to move around doing something to burn the calories off..sure if you are working out in the cold your body could be straining a bit more by walking, lifting, working as a construction worker ( which i am) and yes it is a bit more stressful on th ebody trying to work in the cold weather

you my friend are a great thinker! i like your style. sit in a cold monitored room and lose weight. since i'd be losing weight, do you think they will be serving chocolate cake and cold milk? you could go in the room, eat to your hearts content and just stay in there till all the calories burned off! oh where do i sign up for that?

Well how much would that cost? I mean sure the people who could afford it are all the people who have an olympic size swimming pool, all the expensive exercise equiptment, live on the lake, have private tennis courts, have an indoor basketball court.... I think thye have enough things that burn calories...

Nothing is easy. Besides I hate the cold and not like a lot of heat either. Also the body would make more fat to keep you warm. You can't win you know. Peace

You would have to consume NO food and sit there and shiver in order to burn calories...which is not a good idea because of the illness that you would risk and the damage to your body from shivering. It's not that easy.....

Because (I'm just guessing here...) we'd have to STAY in this "cold chamber" for a veeerrry long time; without exercising at the same time... the "more calories" when it's cold aren't static, entirely, are they? 'Cause if so, what are we talking; a fraction more?
