Smells like a bad head gasket

If the smoke comes from under the hood,
'Betcha a nickel` theres an oil leak somewhere
seeping onto the exhaust manifold.
Check the valve cover gaskets first.

If its white smoke you blew a head gasket. If its brown Could be an oil issue or your rings are worn. Either way rebuild it.

You are probably smoking even on D you just don't see.
If it's black smoke, then you are burning oil.
If it's white smoke, then you have blown head gasket.
