I want to use granite tile for my countertops, but I'd like to have an undermounted sink. Are the tiles thick enough to do that, and how would it look? If anyone has any pictures or sites that they could send me, that'd be great. Would this be a job better suited for solid slab granite?

Absolutely you can! They mount it from underneath to the plywood so it doesn't matter if it's granite, ceramic or ...

The problem with doing an undermount sink is that the opening for the sink must be precisely cut and polished. If you're using any kind of tile (granite or otherwise), you'll never get the cut precise enough and you have no way of polishing the edges.

You can do it with a granite slab. But, the sink hole must be cut and polished during fabrication, which means that you have to provide the sink along with the granite to the fabricators.

When you do a surface mount sink, they don't even cut the hole for the sink until they deliver the fabricated granite.

With tile you won't achieve a nice even or round edge around the sink. Use solid granite.

Yes you can, We have installed them a number of times.
