on rush's program he blamed ethanol production for a shortage of prime beef in NY steak houses.
he said that higher corn prices made beef to costly.
why is it that ethanol is a bad idea to conservatives
it reduses the need for forieng oil, it gives farmers higher prices due to supply and demand, farm subsidies are less,
more jobs, more taxable income
this is america b****
capitalism
rush if you want beef to cost the same then move to china where supply and demand do not effect prices.

That would be correct except for the fact that the price of oil is not going down. The use of corn for ethanol has not caused the slightest reduction in demand fo oil or for the price of oil. The demand for corn to feed the beef cows is the same (or higher, under the theory that cow production is going up). There is a growing but relatively still small amount of corn used for ethanol, but all of it, including feed corn, is being sold at the highest price. It is actually the price gouging by the energy industry that is the problem. Their obscene profits allow them to pay inflated prices to the corn farmers without flinching, because we the energy consumer will pay through the nose for energy. Don't forget, too, that the energy industry will not make lower priced energy, and basically told Congress to f**koff at the televised energy commission hearings not too long ago when they were asked to justify their pricing and profits.

While Eethanol sounds good on paper it is really a bad option. it takes 420 pounds of corn to fill a car with 100% ethanol. The farmers who grow corn to make Ethanol use non-sustainable ways that reduce nitrate concentration in the soil. This is actually causing more damage than is being saved by ethanol. There are better ways to run a "clean" car. Montour a french company has a car that runs entirely on compressed air and actually cleans the air. These are factual reasons to not like ethanol.
Limbaugh is a prick who doesn't like ethanol because he doesn't believe in global warming.
I'm a Democrat and I don't approve of ethanol but my ideas don't have to do with beef, people should be willing to pay more to help the environment

What does any of that have to do with communism? No far from it.
Ethanol is not a good fuel, it costs to much to make and uses more energy to produce than it produces. You can not send it through pipe lines because it breaks down and sheds water and sludge, you have to truck it at that only produces more green house gasses. It is a political shadow that they can cast and spend money on to make people like you who do no research believe they have done something. We could never grow enough corn to ever produce ethanol in nearly enough quantity. There are many much more efficient means of energy production that could replace fossil fuels but they are not for vehicles.
We need to shift from oil for our electricity and heating and leave it strictly for the combustion engine and there would be plenty cheaply for a very long time.
There is legislation that it must be used as an additive to replace MTBE.

Rush Limbaugh is just another hypocritical fat piece of right wing crap that likes the sound of his own fat yap flapping.
Get tough on drugs unless its Rush writing fake scrips & popping oxycotins until he's flying high as our national debt.
The reason your steaks cost more, you stupid republicvnts, is because your Gas man president has managed to do everything in his power to cause fuel costs to go to record highs. Simple economics dip schitz - the cost of fuel goes up and everything goes up along with it.
And by the way Bush has already raised your taxes by running up the national debt. Some body will have to pay the bills sometime, it's just a matter of when. For those of you who have the capacity to remember beyond last week remember his daddy's big Lie of a promise to the American people"Read my Lips..." what he didn't tell you was he was talking out of his *** - A true republican talent.

HELL NO!
Rush Limbaugh is as far from communism as you can get. The only reason we make large ammounts of ethanol is because of communist democrats forcing gas stations to add ethanol to gasoline. There is hardly a demand for expensive ethanol. Democrats made an artificial demand for it and the market responded by providing supply. So what if some of that supply came from cow food.

He needs to go on a diet anyway, from food and drugs!
He can afford it so why is he complaining!
I don't think ethanol production has anything to do with beef! I think it has more to do with profit and who gains and who loses! I wonder if Rush has a clue how many crops farmers have to plow under every year because they are mandated by the government! And that has been his party for 12 years plus!
"Schneck said the big surge in fertilizer prices began in December!...conservatives grab onto anything. It is their industries who see a chance to jerk the price of everything up, and do. There is no need for it, but they do it because they can! Greedy!

that's about the most rediculous thing i ever heard..rush is right, ethanol IS making steaks expensive...it's not his fault, he's just pointing out the fact that when you go overboard on one thing, like growing corn for fuel instead of food, the price will change drastically and you have riots in central america over corn, like there are there now..he just thinks it's funny that all these do-gooders trying to save the planet with ethanol are ruining it for others, like poor people in central America. he's very compassionate in that way.

corn ethanol is sup pored by both parties because, guess what, the US produces a lot of it
it will NOT reduce the need for foreign oil enough to make a difference
it POLLUTES almost as bad as petro-fuels
brb w/link
cleaner and cheaper to produce ethanol can be made from sugar cane or even wood chips...Washington wants corn because they want those middle American votes in the primaries

Isn't that a little like asking if the Pope is a good Muslim? Absolute silly question.
BTW lib/con=0, I love your siggy. Since division by zero is an undetermined number, for your equation to be true, the only possible conclusion is that lib=0, in your case, I totally agree.

I don't know about a communist but he is a drug addict and a hypocrite. Notice how these people complain about welfare for the needy but they never complain about farm subsidies and other forms of welfare for the rich.
They talk about social engineering, yet they forget that social engineers for the car manufacturers and oil companies influenced lawmakers, in the sixties, to eliminate all forms of rail and other forms of transportation and build an infrastructure that is entirely dependent on autos, buses, and petroleum products and encouraged sprawl. We now have a crumbling and poorly maintained Interstate system and no other choices.
