Bungee cords for tying colts.... they have lots of give, more than a bicycle inner tube. We had a little guy who refused to tie, would fling himself mightily and climb up the wall to get away. Didn't have an inner tube, but did have some bungee cords, so made a nice stout tie contraption using the bungee and a panic snap. Wrapped a towel around the end of a broom and proceeded to touch his bottom. He roared, flung himself on the ground, turned half my hair gray. And then was put right back up on his feet by the bungee. Cool! He did this a few times, I wish I'd had a camera on him cuz I was dying laughing he was so outraged, but he finally decided he'd had all the humiliation he could take and never gave another fight. Ever.

Disposable diapers make great quick banadages for knees and hocks. A dry erase board to post dates for worming, shots, teeth floating, posting favorite saying of the week, emergency numbers, etc. A 6'2" husband to reach all of the really tall stuff and carry the really heavy stuff (best $50 I ever spent), A leaf blower that makes sweeping out the barn a 5 minute job and gets rid of twice the dirt. Will think of more later on I am sure

I have a remedy for a persistent cough. During my recent bout with Walking Pneumonia, everytime I would cough, I suffered a stabbing pain in my chest area. Though sheer desperation, I discovered that just before you feel like coughing, take a sip of water and suck on it. Move from side to side and as long as you have the water in your mouth you will not be able to cough. This saved me from alot of agony.

for gaming, there's a strap that clips to where the breastcollar and the buckle connect to the other side. it keeps the b.c. from sliding down on the shoulders, which inhibits movement. i have no idea what they're called.
