If true......that's spooky.

So you would have half-dog and half-humans walking around here????

If you want to be technical, which I do, it isn't possible. The whole problem comes from chromosomes. In order to produce an offspring, you have to have equal numbers of chromosomes from both a male and female. To begin with, many species have different numbers of chromosomes. Humans have 46 (23 from dad, 23 from mom). Dog have 78. As you can see, no offspring is possible because a male or female human would provide 23 chromosomes and a dog would provide 39. Not even monkeys are possible...they have 48 chromosomes!

Assuming that you find a creature with 46 chromosomes (to attempt to match our 23 from mom or dad), they must then be able to match! Think of it like a jigsaw puzzle; 2 puzzles may each have 46 pieces, but you can't mix and match the pieces!

A rough definition of "species" means a group that can breed and produce fertile offspring.

A donkey can be bred with a horse, producing a mule, however mules are sterile and cannot breed themselves. Therefore, donkeys and horses are different species.

A human and a dog can't even produce sterile offspring, so fertile offspring are out of the question. Humans and dogs are much too different to ever breed together.

Nope sorry dont know where u heard this but is impossible. We are seperate species and seperate species can't produce offspring.each species needs to have matching genetics... altho true a donkey and a horse can breed which creates the mule, but the mule in turn cannot breed .... anyway i dont know of any volunteers ...do u?!!

That is impossible. We are seperate species and seperate species can't produce offspring. Except for the mule, that's weird...

no we are not cross-fertile with animals...although it does make you wonder about chimps and humans since we share 98% of the same DNA......
