I have to go to school tomorrow. And tomorrow will be the 2nd day of my period. So that day is ALWAYS heavy. I have NEVER worn a tampon. And school lasts about 7 hours. So could I wear a tampon and a pad for that long without it leaking? PLEASE HELP!

I no how you real exept i had mine at a movie place.If you never worn a tampon dont try because if you put it in the wrong way than you cn seriously hurt yourself.So my advice to you is where the heaviest pad they have n put 2 on. Then after about 2 hours go to the bathroom n change them.The teacher cannot let you use the restroom and if its a girl teacher then go to her and tell in private that you have to go to the restroom to change you pad because its really heavy n if its a guy teacher tell him that its a complete n total emergancy and you cant tell him why cuz its personal. well if you take my advice email me n tell me how it went @ oh.sammy@yahoo.com. A pad should be changed every 2-3 hours because since it is outside of your body it is exposed to oxygen and can cause a smell, just go to the bathroom and change your pad. I know that Kotex makes pads with silent wrappers so nobody knows you have your period.
If you feel more comfortable, you could use a Super-absorbency tampon for you heavy flow and put on a pad for back-up just in case you insert it wrong (being your first time and all.. it's probably a better idea)

Don't worry about trying to use a tampon and a pad tomorrow. Just change your pad as often as you need to and everything will be okay. Have a good first day back!

ok this works for me
over the pad put a HUGE wad of toilet paper...every two or three hours goto the bathroom and flush the toilet paper down the toilet and put another wad there and so on....the pad will stay clean all day plus you will feel more comfortable

go to the bathroom during the day....they cant make u stay in class the whole 7hrs without a bthrm break
