If you look at the difference between Mac and PC the big difference is software there is 5 times the software for PC versus the Mac. Mac's are great for business more then home use in my opinion. Would I buy Alienware...no because your paying a premium for the name. For myself I decided how I was going to use my computer Gaming, Video, etc then you base that on your Hardware. I went to a small computer shop and pieced mine together buying my tower first. I bought Thermaltake tower then asus motherboard and loaded it with ram. 300gig western digital HD and soundblaster soundcard and top of the line video card etc....But when I was done my computor flat rocks for $1000 out the door. Trying doing that with Alienware better take out a loan. Also my computor store is close they stand by there work and I've been extremely happy. Also not waiting forever for customer service on the phone.....

It totally depends on what you want to do. Alienware targets gamers.
Macs are considered better for creative things like pictures, movies, etc and have less of a risk for viruses, etc. There are not manygames out for Mac.

Depends on whether you want to run Windows or Mac OS. If you want to run Windows, buy the Alienware. If you want to run Mac OS, buy a Mac.

Mac would be my last choice.
Why? Because I'm not in the 3rd grade anymore.
