Well, there are some cages that are under the price of $80, but I don't know your state, so I wouldn't know. Some cages for ferrets here, in my shelter, range up to $25-$200, and there is this one ferret cage that I think is very useful for the ferret and the owner:

They sell this cage, almost, everwhere in New Jersey, and they now have it online. If you still can't manage the price of that cage, we can try to go a bit lower:

This is $57.99 now, and it may not look so fancy in the picture, but your ferret will love to climb, and this cage has it all. There's, also, this other cage that I know, and it's higher than $57, but it's under $80, so I hope this one is a bit better:

I like this one because it has a starter-kit for your ferret, so if this is a first for you and your ferret, it has everything you'll need for your ferret, and it's $74.99. It contains a litter pan and hammock, 2 ramps, 2 shelves, and a water bottle and food dish for your ferret. I'm sorry if the prices are still not good enough for you, but some cages for ferrets are pretty expensive these days, and are pretty hard to find for perfect cages, but I, personally, wouldn't say there's any perfect cages out there, but I think you should get a top-quality cage for your ferret to be safe.

Ferrets are pretty stinky even when you do clean their cage. You could clean the cage everyday and they sill have an odor to them. I would recommended a more open area/ bigger room. Like the living room or something. Good luck with your new fuzzy friend :)

Fosters and smith!! They rock, you can order free magazines from them and order your supplies from there, they have a nice three level cage that comes with everything you need to begin for $79 plus shipping and handling. Same cage caused $139 at petco.http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/NavResults.cfm?Ntt=ferret%20cage&Nao=11&Ntk=All&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Np=1&N=114133&pc=1&Nty=1

For cheaper cages (as well as all other ferret supplies) I highly recommend Ferret Depot.... http://www.ferretdepot.com

For good quality cages I highly recommend Martin's Cages....

I was gonna say Petco. But for under 80 you're poor pet's gonna be miserable! Buy the nice condo, it's 200, three levels...great!

I've seen some nice ones on Ebay. They don't need a really huge one if you can let them out to play every day.
