What do you think of "Stealy McBeam"? I'm a Steeler fan and I don't like it. It sounds like a porn star name. Thay turned down the idea for cheerleaders. Should have gone with the cheerleaders.

I hate the idea. However I did love when PTI ripped on it today. Hopefully Rooney will see this and realize it is a terrible idea. I always took pride in the fact that the Steelers did not have a mascot or any of that stuff. But I can not say that today. Not only is a terrible idea and a terrible design but its a bad name. What the heck? Steely McBeam? There are not many things that Rooneys do that makes me angry. This is one of them however. They lasted 75 years without a mascot I think they could survive another 75 without one too.

I was born and raised here in Pittsburgh and this mascot guy is a joke! Honestly i was proud that we didnt have cheerleaders or a mascot. We dont need it like some teams. This name, "Stealy McBeam" is a joke! If the city voted on it, the name would never have even been considered. Hopefully someone will wake up and realize how the sports commmunity is laughing about this. Its embarrassing!

It's RIDICULOUS!! I'm a Steeler hater, but I can recognize the pride the Steelers fans have in the Terrible Towel. But a team with as much class as the Steelers, to have them have a mascot is stupid. Let alone, the name Stealy McBeam makes it 1000 times worse. His looks make him another 100,000 times worse. It's one of the most ridiculously looking things I've ever seen in my life. Cheereleaders would've been a better idea. They tried to make the mascot look like Bill Cowher. It doesn't look ANYTHING like Bill Cowher (except the eyebrows)

I was always happy with the fact that the Steelers didn't go with the gimmicks (yeah, yeah I know the Terrible Towel) that other teams have. I was watching a story on the news about it last night and they said they had one in the 80's, but I don't remember him. Why do we need a mascot? I think it's a waste.

Also the mascot looks like a simpsons character on roids.

FUC* THE MASCOT!!!!!!!! he is not a reflection on the citys steel industry as the Rooneys say he is and the name does sound like a porn star name. they should get rid of steely mcasshole and get cheerleaders
