Best Case Scenario: you have a family friend who owns their own business, and needs a part-time assistant, and is willing to hire you.
More Realistic Scenario: try waitressing. If you are good at it, you can probably earn more off of tips than you can at most retail jobs.
If you do take a retail job, try for one that pays a sales commission (ex: Nordstrum's, and many others.) This will reward you for being good at what you do. This doesn't mean you have to go for the pressure sale! But I'm often shocked when I walk into a store how many sales clerks are standing around chatting, and nobody offers assistance. This way, if you are the one who is working, you are the one who will be rewarded.
Good luck!

The best paying job for your age is In N' Out Burger. If they are hiring, and you are responsible and a hard worker, you should have no problem getting the job. They pay $9.00 an hour an over. In a few years, when I need a summer job, I will definitely apply there. Being a waitresses for a local restaurant is also an idea, but working at an In N' Out Burger would probably be easier and more flexible for your hours. I hope this helped! :-)

I don't know what job would give you the most money but you can get 10 dollars an hour working at a hotel front desk as a guest services agent. It's a cool job if you're good with people, and people yelling at you.

Look for a job you enjoy. If your primary motive is to make as much as you can, you will not do well in ANY job. If you don't do the job well, you are not likely to keep the job long enough for the pay rate to matter.

If you live anywhere near Washington Mutual Banks, they have a 2 year high school internship that starts at 8/hr. Its a great program.
i would check out waitressing. depending on your attitude and the resturant, you can make upwards of $200 a night.
