If I was in love. I would absolutely marry him. It's my life not my families and if they love me, they will accept my decision.

I actually thought about this when I was younger. My dad told me once that he would "dis-own" me if I ever dated/married someone other than Caucasian. I couldn't understand where he was coming from. Now I know, after a divorce (from a Caucasian) how hard it could be to have a marriage with someone of another race.

With all of that in mind, if I really loved him and my family disapproved I would still marry him. The rest of my family would come to love him with time, and my dad? Well, he would be out of the question - but I could deal with that if I knew what I was doing was right for me.

Yes. I've dated many people of other races before, so I wouldn't have a problem marrying one.

Luckily, my family wouldn't care. But, if they did, I would still marry the person anyway, if I really loved them that much.

Heck yeah I would!

If this person is making me feel loved like no other, and my family couldn't except his/her race or creed, then to hell with them I wanna be happy. My life is not determined by my family's opinion and what they think I should do with my life or who ever I want to be with.

yes it's not like your parents would be saving you from an abuser or a player. it's only skin color. how would you be better off with someone of your own race. what would be the difference. I could care less what my parents would say about it. I'm the one marrying him not them.

well love does not see race to start with . if your family actually loved you it would not matter what color / race he / she is. you should find out why they don't like him / her and go from there. they may see something you don't or they may know something you don't ..

I sure would. It's not the family marring him, it's you! It's what makes you happy that counts.

No, I would not. As much as we hate to say this, our parents often know us better than we know ourselves.

Let me give an example ... can you list five truly dumb things you have done in your life? (You had better be able to) My guess is your parents would not have done any of those five things nor would they have encouraged you to do any of them either. Why? Because, often, they know life, and us, and our true selves, even more than we know ourselves.

As they often say ... opposites attract ... but ... it's sameness that holds two people together ...
