Don't be worried at all!

Sometimes, people don't get their period until they are 16. I got mine when I was 14. I was soo eager to get it, because all my friends had. Now I realize it was dumb of me to do that, cause it sure can be a pain sometimes!

Even if you know some people who have gotten theirs already, know that everyone grows at different rates. Relax, it'll happen when your body is ready.

You should not be worried; it is a normal thing. Everybody gets their period at a different age. Some can be as young as 8 or 9 and some can be as old as 17 or 18. You have nothing to worry about. Just make sure you are leading a healthy lifestyle and be happy you have a mom that is willing to talk to you about these kinds of things. And, until you get it, enjoy the fact that you don't have to worry about it.

Best of luck to you.

Stop WORRYING. A girl's 'first period' should be a 'time of celebration' .. because it means you are not a 'little girl' any more, but are 'becoming a woman' in EVERY SENSE. Yes, 'listen to your mother' because you will be 'really glad' you know all of the 'technical stuff' you'll have to do when you 'start bleeding' the first tim ... and it will happen 'every month' until you are around 50-60 ... but if your mom or an adult won't take you out for an ice cream sundae, then take a few of your friends who are also 'around starting their periods' and have a little 'celebration' of your own. BE PROUD. It's a 'very special thing' because that 'period' is necessary for women to have babies ... and WOMEN have babies because MEN are too 'wimpy' and couldn't stand the 'pain of childbirth.'

Be thankful and dont worry. My daughter is 12 and she hasnt gotten hers either, however most of her friends have. She will be 13 in Nov. She is not looking forward to it either.

I was a late bloomer as well. When I finally got my period, I hated it.

Just think of it this way, for now you can wear all the white and light colored dresses, skirts and pants any day of the week. Believe me you do start your period, you will do enough worrying then.

PS you may not know the author Judy Blume but I bought my daughter a book that is cute and funny and the charachter was a late bloomer in there. Its called Dear God, It's me Margret. Try reading it. Its cute.

I didn't get my period until I was 13 and my sister didn't get hers until she was 14. We are all different. It is nothing to worry about. My daughter is 12 in December and she hasn't got her period yet. Your period will start when it is good and ready. Just forget about it and nature will take it's course when your body says so. You have absolutely nothing to worry about at the moment.

not at all. girls get it at different ages. some start at 10, others 15. it depends on how ur body works. ask ur mom if she knows when she got hers, and it's possible you would get it around her age. if you have discharge, your period would most likely come about a year after it. if it doesn't, don't worry. you will get your period sooner or later. it's actually better to get it later in life because a period is hard work and it's messy. too messy

On AVERAGE, girls start their periods when they're 12 but it ranges from 9-16 years old. If you don't get your period by the time you are 16 years old, you should visit your doctor. I don't think you should worry.

Nothing to worry about, my dear. Every woman in history has had to deal with it. Just be prepared with minipads and maxipads. It just depends on how heavy your first flow will be. It sounds like your mom is gonna be a big help. That's great!! Also, keep Midol on hand , in case you get cramps. You might not get it until you're 18! So enjoy this time without it, because it's a real pain. But we all deal with it, so don't you worry about a thing!! :)

No, you should not be worried. You could get it at any time. Ask your mom when she started because that can give you an idea of when you will start. My mom started her period at age 11 and I started mine at age 13.
