No, I had 2 and they were just poop machines! They were very intelligent...however, they couldn't figure out the litter box. That and they chewed on EVERYTHING. I would definitely recommend a cat.

Yes, ferrets do make great pets, but one thing you should watch out for is their smell. Overall, they are playful pets and are social, just like any other animal on this planet. While ferrets are not for everyone, they can make great pets for the right owner. They are affectionate and bond to their owners, and there are few pets as playful as ferrets (yet they are quiet for a large portion of the day). They seem to have negative images in some places, which is largely undeserved, or unfair, though. They will entertain you endlessly with their antics. They will happily play with toys, and watching ferrets play for the sheer joy of it is guaranteed to lift your mood. Remember, it is known that owning pets has real health benefits and the joy and affection they bring is the main reason. While they can and do vocalize, for the most part they are very quiet. For example, probably the only time a ferret will make a noise loud enough for someone in the next apartment to notice is if the ferret is hurt or very frightened. They also sleep away a large portion of the day. But, they do smell a lot if their cage is not cleaned in less than a week...

Personally I think a cat is so much better than a ferret. A ferret will turn on you at anytime for any reason and loves the wild anyway.

Ferrets make excellent pets but they can be a handful. They are incredibly intelligent and so they can often get into mischief. They also have a habit of stealing things and hiding them in a hiding spot. However, this quality is part of what makes them such a great pet. I would definately suggest getting two so that they are not bored. I wouldn't say they are any better or worse than cats.

They are not better than cats because they require a lot more care than cats. Ferrets start to stink really bad if you don't bathe them, whereas cats keep themselves pretty clean. Ferrets are cute though and very affectionate.

they can make good pets. they are indoor pets but will turn everything inside out examine things and like to outwit a human. the advice is to find ones that have already been spayed. also were used as vermin repellents much like cats by people. had problems looking up much of the information as receive message saying page could not be displayed. web might be experiancing technical difficulties.

I've never had one. But, I know a woman who has five of them! In fact, they have their own bedroom with furniture in it to play in and on! They like to sleep in drawers stuffed with old clothes and they are just darling! I observed my friend with them and they are very loving and affectionate and I think, based on what I witnessed, they would make a better pet than a cat!
