I live in georgia also, and the only people making 16 an hour are doctors. you say your right out of high school, your next step should be getting a higher education and maybe you can reach the 16 dollar pay one day,but for now stay home unless they are kicking you out,and get some education under your belt.

You are ready to move out when you can BOTH afford it and reach your goals in life better by being somewhere else.
No one can tell if $11 an hour is enough, because you don't say where you live. If you were in rural Maine or Mississippi and making that kind of money you would be one of the wealthiest people in the county. If you live in New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, etc. and made that kind of money, in a month you wouldn't be able to pay a week's worth of rent on a decent apartment.
Check your local newspaper and see how much rents are.
You are making about $1,000 per month (after taxes) so you need to be able to pay for an apartment, food, car, gas, insurance, etc.
The bottom line, however, is, will moving you out get you closer to your life goals, or will it, in fact, hold you back? Sometimes by living at home and putting up with the "issues" (yes, I know they exist) you can save a lot of money and actually get a lot closer to where you want to be. What if you could save the $1,000 a month? In a year you'd have almost enough for a down payment on a house!
Get a local newspaper and do a bit or research. it won't take long, won't cost much and you'll be able to get some perspective ... but always, remember where you want to be in five or ten years ... that's the goal ...

It's a combination of age and money making.
I graduated high school and worked for 7 bucks 'n hour. Obviously, I stayed home, but I was not pleased with the situation.
So, I checked the different college programs, and found one that suited me, and when I was done with that, I had the good money and I was out of the house.
So long as you don't plan to live with your folks into your 30's, you don't have to run out of the house just because some other person thinks you need to be out 'on your own'. If you moved out now, you'd be stuck for cash all the time.
Another alternative is apprentice work. A decent plumber makes a mint, and a good electrician stuffs their pillow with 100 dollar bills.
Take your time, figure things out, get the coin and be on your way. It could take 3 months or 3 years. But, it's your choice.
Good luck.

Don't even worry about your age that is not the biggest issue here. You have to actually figure out a budget. I don't know how much you need. That's part of being an adult figure it out. Figure out the rent where you would be moving, figure out the average cost of utilities there. go grocery shopping and figure out how much you will need for food. you have to figure out all of your expenses before you can possibly know how much money you need.
